Cost of college went up for all students at Augustana University

Tuition and fees rose 3.3 percent for 2018-19 at Augustana University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Dakota students paid $33,018 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,058 more than the $31,960 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 481 students received grants or scholarships totaling $10.6 million and 307 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.8 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,133), 1,672 students used grants or scholarships totaling $34 million, and 1,017 students took out $8.1 million in federal student loans.
