City of Brandon recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Brandon has a vacancy on the Brandon City Council from Ward 3. Interested Ward 3 residents must be a registered voter in Ward 3 and need to submit a completed Expression of Interest Form by 4:30pm on Friday April 1, 2022. Forms can be obtained at City Hall, 304 S Main Ave or on the City’s website at www.cityofbrandon.org. It is anticipated that the Brandon City Council will consider an appointment to fill the vacancy during their regular meeting on April 18, 2022. The appointment will expire on May 1, 2023 at which time the remaining three-year term will be filled by the individual elected at the Municipal Election on April 11, 2023.
Timeline is as follows:
April 1: Deadline for Expression of Interest Forms
April 11: Meet the candidates - interview with Council
April 18: Council considers appointing candidate
May 2: Sworn into Office
