Northern State University’s Dias Has Published New Book

Northern State University Professor of History Dr. Ric Dias has published his second book, “Kaiser Steel of Fontana; Together we Build.”

The book, released July 4 from The History Press, examines how industrialist Henry J. Kaiser used novel labor relations around World War II to break into and then succeed in the highly competitive steel industry.

This week, Dias will be attending the Author Fair at K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library, 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27. He will give a brief talk and sign copies of his book, which will be available to purchase.

Dias has worked at Northern since 1995 and was named the NSU Outstanding Faculty Award winner in 1998. A specialist in 20th-century U.S. history, Dias is co-advisor to the NSU History Club and is the NSU Constitution Day coordinator.
