Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue

Beginning on Friday, June 2, 2023, the outside northbound lane on South Minnesota Avenue will be closed, between West Harpel Drive and W Lotta Street.

Black-Top Paving will be working on a parking lot. Traffic Control will be setup daily after morning rush and pulled daily prior to evening rush. The work is expected to be complete by the evening of Monday, June 5, 2023.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closures – Cliff Avenue

Beginning on Monday, June 5, 2023, the outside southbound and northbound lanes of Cliff Avenue between 11th Street and 26th Street will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete milling and an asphalt overlay.  

In the upcoming weeks, the location of the lane closures on Cliff Avenue will vary.  At a minimum, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times.  Access to businesses will be maintained.

This work is anticipated to be complete in mid-July.

Street Closure – Western Avenue

Beginning on Monday, June 5, 2023, Western Avenue from Ninth Street to Sixth Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Sioux Falls Street Division will be performing road maintenance work. Weather pending, this work is anticipated to be open to traffic by 4 p.m., Monday, June 5, 2023. There will be a detour made available while the work is being completed.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Construction within Riverdale Park Sanitary Sewer Upgrades

Beginning on Monday, June 5, 2023, work will begin in the Riverdale Park area.  The contractor will start with placement of a sanitary sewer bypass system along the western side of the park followed by manhole replacement and sanitary sewer lining.

Cameo Way traffic east of Bruce Road will remain open during most of this phase of the project. Access to the east end of Cameo Way may be redirected through 24th Street for short periods of time to allow for construction.

This phase of the project is anticipated to be complete by mid-September.

The park will remain open during construction. Traffic control will be in place.

Street Closure – 14th Street

Beginning on Monday, June 5, 2023, 14th Street near Fifth Avenue will be closed to allow construction crews to perform railroad crossing improvements.

As a detour, motorists should utilize Seventh Avenue, 18th Street, and Second Avenue as alternate routes.

Weather permitting this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.

Intersection Closure – Western Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the intersection of 22nd Street and Western Avenue will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete pavement repairs. No signed detour will be in place; however, motorists should utilize Grange Avenue or 26th Street as an alternate route.

This work is expected to be completed in about one day with favorable weather conditions.
