A Sioux Falls man has been acquitted of charges related to escape from custody. The verdict was delivered following a federal jury trial held in Rapid City, South Dakota, on November 7, 2024.
Jericho Ladeaux, 31, had been indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2024. The charges were connected to an incident where Ladeaux allegedly did not report to a halfway house in Rapid City to complete his federal sentence. He was located by local law enforcement in Rapid City approximately seven hours after the scheduled reporting time.
The investigation into the case was carried out by the U.S. Marshals Service, and the prosecution was managed by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced the outcome of the trial.
