Johnson expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, "Now is a special time in American history. We must secure the border, cut spending, and roll back unnecessary regulations. The caucus consists of over 80 conservative House members from various parts of the United States who are committed to providing practical conservative solutions. Johnson has been at the helm of this group since 2022.
