A federal court has affirmed that Congress holds the authority to mandate the sale of TikTok from its current owner, ByteDance. This decision supports a law enacted earlier this year which stipulates that if TikTok is not sold by January 19, it will be prohibited from operating in the United States. The platform is described as "Chinese malware" installed on over 100 million American devices, allegedly granting China access to sensitive user data.

The ruling is seen as a significant step for American privacy and a measure against the Chinese Communist Party. ByteDance now faces a deadline to sell TikTok to maintain its presence in the U.S.

Recent surveys indicate differing views on communism across generations. Among Gen Z, 28% have a favorable opinion of communism compared to only 6% of Boomers and 3% of the Silent Generation. Additionally, 18% of Gen Z believe communism deserves consideration over capitalism in America, while 19% view dictatorship as an ideal political system.

In response to these findings, legislation like the Crucial Communism Teaching Act has been introduced to educate high school students about communism and totalitarianism's dangers.

Meanwhile, changes are underway within the Department of Defense under the Biden Administration. The focus has shifted from military readiness towards social issues such as DEI initiatives and gender transition policies for minors. However, this year's defense package aims to reverse some policies and includes measures such as nearly a 15% pay raise for junior enlisted service members and provisions addressing China's shipping practices.

The passage of this defense bill is deemed vital for reinforcing military strength and ensuring resources are allocated effectively within the Department of Defense.
