Every year, numerous babies are born alive following failed abortion attempts, yet not all receive the necessary care for survival. This week, a vote was cast to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The act mandates healthcare practitioners present at such births to preserve the life and health of the child. "Every child deserves a chance at life," was stated in support of this legislation.

Additionally, an A+ rating was recently earned from Susan B. Anthony’s Pro-Life Scorecard for votes and actions taken last Congress.

In other legislative matters, a bill titled "Keep the Nine" has been reintroduced. This bill aims to amend the Constitution to ensure that only nine justices serve on the Supreme Court. The proposal is seen as a measure against court-packing efforts by those advocating for additional liberal justices under a Democrat president. The proponent of this bill expressed hope that with a GOP Congress, it could be enacted to protect the Supreme Court from political manipulation: "The Supreme Court is an essential part of America’s checks and balances. It must not be abused."

In another development, the Wounded Knee Massacre Memorial and Sacred Site Act has passed the House. This legislation seeks to preserve land where hundreds of Lakota Indians were massacred by the U.S. Army. The passage of this bill marks significant progress as more than 10,000 bills are introduced each Congress, but only a few hundred receive a vote on the House floor.

Gratitude was expressed towards the Oglala Sioux Tribe and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe for their assistance in crafting this legislation: "America isn’t perfect, and I’ll admit we’ve made some mistakes." The Wounded Knee bill aims to address past wrongs by protecting this land's sanctity in memory of lives lost.

There is optimism that the Senate will consider this legislation soon.
