Happy Thanksgiving to the people of South Dakota. This season is a time for reflection on faith, family, and freedoms. The intention is to work with a Republican Senate and White House to protect these values, which are considered pillars of the nation.

A recent development involves the Indian Health Service (IHS), which has been criticized for failing to provide timely payments to healthcare providers under the purchased/referred care program. This failure has left many Native Americans facing bills they should not owe or risking damage to their credit. A bill named the Purchased and Referred Care Improvement Act has passed the House Natural Resources Committee. It aims to clarify that IHS is responsible for these payments.

In other news, concerns have been raised about a group created by the World Health Organization (WHO) to study transgender medicine. The group is accused of bias and secrecy while rejecting scientific evidence. There is a call from 28 colleagues for WHO to dissolve this group due to fears it may promote gender transition medicine without adequate scientific support, potentially putting individuals with gender dysphoria at risk.

The letter sent regarding this issue can be accessed online.
