A man from Rapid City, South Dakota, has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender. The sentencing of Brady Makes Room For Them, 40, was handed down by U.S. District Judge Camela C. Theeler on August 18, 2025.
Makes Room For Them will also serve five years of supervised release and must pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. He pleaded guilty to the charge on June 2, 2025, after being indicted by a federal grand jury in April of this year.
He was originally convicted of Abusive Sexual Contact in September 2005, which required him to register as a sex offender and update his registration within three business days if he relocated or changed employment or student status. He had previous convictions for failing to register as a sex offender in 2012, 2018, and 2023.
In December 2024, Makes Room For Them updated his sex offender registration with the Rapid City Police Department. However, after relocating from his registered address on March 6, 2025, he did not update his registration as required. He was arrested in Rapid City on March 20, 2025.
"This case was brought as a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by the U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims.
