U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson has announced that his office is now accepting applications for summer internships in Washington, D.C., Rapid City, Aberdeen, and Sioux Falls. The internship program offers a range of duties including researching legislation, attending committee hearings and briefings, leading tours of the U.S. Capitol, handling constituent phone calls, sorting mail, and supporting both staff and the Congressman.

Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with staff members while enhancing their research, writing, and communication skills. They will gain valuable insights into the federal legislative branch as they assist in serving South Dakota constituents.

For those interested in federal tribal relations or Native American issues, there is an opportunity to apply for the Ben Reifel Internship based in Washington, D.C. This position seeks candidates who can commit to at least six weeks and are eager to serve South Dakota’s tribal communities.

“Our interns play an integral role in ensuring our offices run smoothly,” said Johnson. “Internships in Congress give individuals a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see how our government functions. The collaborative work environment of our offices sets interns up for success regardless of their career path.”

Applications must be submitted online by March 2, 2025. Additional information about the program and application process can be found on Johnson's official website.
