U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson, along with Meade County Sheriff Pat West and Clay County Sheriff Andy Howe, shared their thoughts following President Trump's Joint Address to Congress. The officials expressed their support for the points made by the President during his speech.
Johnson praised the President's ability to connect border security with its impact on people's lives. "I thought it was incredible how [President Trump] wove together these stories about how securing the border actually impacted real people’s lives. I thought it was a powerful speech," said Johnson.
Sheriff West appreciated the emphasis on border security and recognition of law enforcement and military efforts. "I was excited to hear about [President Trump’s] support on continuing to secure the border. I was glad to hear that he recognized law enforcement, military, and some of his accomplishments there," said West.
Sheriff Howe also expressed satisfaction with the President's address, highlighting support for law enforcement and military, as well as measures against drug trafficking and cartels. "I was really happy to see the President talk about support for law enforcement, support for the military, protecting Social Security, keep fentanyl from coming across the southern border, and taking action against the cartels from Mexico," said Howe.
