U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson from South Dakota has extended an invitation to Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins to visit the state. The purpose of Johnson's invitation is to give Rollins firsthand experience of the farming and ranching practices and traditions in South Dakota.
In a letter to Rollins, Johnson expressed the significance of ranching in South Dakota. "It would be an honor to host you in South Dakota to meet some of these hardworking farmers and ranchers," Johnson stated. He further invited Rollins to participate in traditional activities such as an overnight calving event in the spring or cattle branding during the summer, highlighting the lifestyle of local producers who contribute to feeding populations globally. Johnson aimed to provide Rollins with a "glimpse into the life" of these agricultural workers.
